Kirkham allotment and collective options
The city-operated Kirkham Community Garden is at 120 Kirkham Drive in Ward 7. Its 2022 expansion added a roughly 300-square-metre collective garden, 52 allotment plots, four raised planters, 16 water points and three tool sheds.
Allotments are leased annually for $75 plus a $25 security deposit, with credit-card payment only. The city says plots are fully subscribed. Email PublicRealm@markham.ca for the waitlist. For the collective garden, contact unearthD@outlook.com; collective members share the work and growing area rather than holding individual leased plots.

Other community gardens
The city’s separate garden list is explicitly not exhaustive and includes independent operators. Ask those operators about membership or space, rather than assuming the city can allocate their plots. One listed garden, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, is in Richmond Hill but accepts Markham residents.
The Legacy Organic Garden listing carries an old closed-due-to-COVID notice. Its current operating status is unresolved; this guide does not present it as open. The complete source table below preserves those operator and boundary distinctions.
