Role Description The Field Service Technician is a part-time, on-site role based in Vaughan, ON. This role is responsible for performing service, repairs, adjustments, and inspections on vinyl windows and steel entry doors at customer locations throughout Ontario, ensuring products function correctly and meet company standards. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing issues, completing warranty and non-warranty service calls, installing replacement components, and verifying proper operation after work is completed. The technician communicates with customers on-site to explain findings, provide clear updates, and ensure a positive service experience, while completing accurate service documentation and reports. The role also involves collaborating with the production, installation, and customer service teams, following safety procedures, maintaining tools and company vehicle, and supporting continuous improvement in service quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Hands-on technical skills in window and door installation, adjustment, and repair, including measuring, fitting, and basic carpentry.
- Mechanical aptitude, ability to use hand and power tools safely, and capability to diagnose product and installation issues.
- Strong customer service and communication skills to interact professionally with homeowners, contractors, and internal teams.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and complete service calls with minimal supervision.
- Comfort working at heights, lifting moderate loads, and performing physically active tasks in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to travel to customer sites in the Vaughan and surrounding areas.
- Previous experience in windows, doors, construction, renovation, or a related building trades field is an asset.
