Job Summary
TuxMat is hiring a Full Stack Developer to join our E-Commerce team. Reporting to the Director of E-Commerce, this role builds and maintains our Shopify storefront, the integrations that connect it to the rest of the business and the internal tools our teams rely on.
You will work across Shopify themes, custom apps and checkout, connect the platform with systems such as QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Postscript, Amazon, SellerCloud and our fulfillment partners, and turn Figma designs into fast, accurate front-end code. When something breaks, you will find the cause and fix it quickly. This is a hands-on role for an experienced developer who takes ownership of work from first requirement through to deployment, uses AI-assisted tools to work faster without lowering quality, and works well with non-technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Shopify Platform Development
- Build and maintain features across our Shopify store, including custom themes, apps and checkout flows.
- Write and maintain Liquid templates and use the Shopify REST and GraphQL APIs to build storefront and custom app functionality.
- Keep up with Shopify platform and API changes, and update our code before those changes affect the store.
Integrations & Internal Tools
- Develop and maintain API integrations with QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Postscript, Amazon, SellerCloud and our fulfillment partners.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, performance problems and integration failures, prioritizing anything that affects orders or customers.
- Work with Marketing, Operations and Logistics to understand their requirements and build practical tools and solutions that reduce manual work.
- Front-End & User Experience
- Turn Figma designs into accurate, responsive and fast front-end code, working closely with designers through handoff.
- Apply UX/UI principles, including layout, typography and accessibility, to deliver a consistent customer experience that supports conversion.
Development Practices
- Manage code in GitHub or Bitbucket, including branching, pull requests and code reviews.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor to speed up coding and automate repetitive tasks, while reviewing output for quality and security.
- Document code, integrations and processes so the codebase stays clean and easy to maintain.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on full stack development experience, including at least 2 years in a Shopify or e-commerce environment.
- Proven Shopify development experience, including Liquid, the Shopify REST and GraphQL APIs and custom app development.
- Strong front-end skills with a modern JavaScript framework such as React, Vue or Angular.
- Back-end experience with Node.js, Python or a comparable language.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs, and working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience integrating e-commerce systems, including payment gateways, fulfillment, inventory management and CRM platforms.
- Working knowledge of Figma and UX/UI principles, with the ability to take a design from handoff to production.
- Solid experience with Git-based workflows in GitHub or Bitbucket.
- Comfortable using AI coding assistants as part of everyday development.
- Clear communication with designers, non-technical colleagues and leadership.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure) is an asset.
- Experience with SellerCloud or a similar inventory and order management system, and with Klaviyo or Postscript from a developer perspective, is an asset.
- Exposure to AI and machine learning in e-commerce, such as personalization, search or automation, is an asset.
What Success Looks Like
The store is stable and fast, integrations run reliably, and issues are resolved before they affect customers or orders. New features move from design to production quickly and match the design, the codebase is well documented, and teams across the business can count on you to turn their requirements into working solutions.
This role will be a key partner to the Director of E-Commerce as TuxMat's digital commerce platform continues to grow.
